Ophthalmic Sales Representative

We are looking for a dynamic sales representative for territory development and sales of Salient Medical’s Diagnostic Imaging and Dry Eye portfolio in Western Canada.

Job Description

  • Spearheads the selling of diagnostic ocular imaging equipment and dry eye products in accordance with budgeted objectives and to obtain maximum profitability
  • Educates and informs optometrists, doctors, nurses, and appropriate staff personnel about our products
  • Directs product evaluations in clinical and office settings
  • Cold calling and developing prospect lists
  • Researches accounts and determine appropriate messaging and sales approaches
  • Assists in the preparation and operation of trade shows, conventions, and/or clinical meetings
  • Solves product problems for customers in an expeditious fashion
  • Manages and maintains a sample inventory of products

Required Education, Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree is required
  • 3 – 5 years of successful ophthalmic or medical sales experience
  • Fluency in English, French an asset
  • Must be able to drive and must have valid Driver’s License
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

The ideal applicant will possess:

  • Formal knowledge of Optometry
  • Experience selling diagnostic equipment for ocular imaging
  • Experience selling Dry Eye products or managing Dry Eye Disease
  • Proven sales success in meeting and exceeding quotas
  • Ability to work in a fast pace, dynamic company
  • Work effectively with the internal marketing support and logistics team
  • Familiarity with operating under strict quality management systems
  • Ability to carry and lift boxes that might weigh up to 25 Kg

This position will require 20%-40% travel throughout Western Canada including occasional weekend and evenings and attendance at conferences.
